Closing the gap between science and bedside care

About Us

Inspire – Respiratory Critical Care (IRCC)

IRCC is an organization based on philanthropic intentions and giving back to our communities. Our mission is simple – Bridge the gap between science and bedside clinical care. We believe that the smaller the gap, the bigger the impact we all have on providing excellent patient care. When we provide excellent patient care to those in our communities, we improve health, quality of life, and outcomes.

In our efforts to bridge this gap, we provide:

  • The Gas Exchange Podcast: Our contemporary up-to-date podcast, hosted by Keith Lamb, provides interviews with world-class clinicians from all over the world. Keith discusses modern day respiratory critical care with the experts doing the research, writing the landmark papers and getting the work done. Our podcast is published to YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

  • Bimonthly Expert Panel Discussions: Our panel discussions are held every other month. We break down current topics in respiratory critical care and invite live discussion with panelists and audience members. These discussions are open to anyone and are recorded so that they can be shared with your colleagues at any time.

  • Bimonthly “Patient Behind the Screen” Live Case Scenarios with high fidelity simulation. These episodes take a live patient case report and go through a step-by-step approach to management using ventilator simulation technology. Our presenters are experts in respiratory critical care and bring unparalleled experience and knowledge to the table. These episodes are also recorded to allow sharing at any time. Live audience interaction and live polling are incorporated into this world class approach to learning.

  • Weekly Pearls: Once a week, we post a relevant publication with key elements illustrated and PUBMED references. These are the discussed on our forum page featured on our website. Anyone is invited to start a discussion on the forum page, or to simply reply to an ongoing discussion.

  • Live Classroom Lectures: Are you a faculty member for a respiratory care program, or a department leader that would like help teaching a special topic that you might not have a lot of experience with? Contact us. Our team will put together a presentation, schedule a virtual lecture with you and your class or team.

  • Case Report Publications: Coming soon! We will be calling for case reports to publish on our “rolling” “Review of Case Reports and Important Clinical Findings”. These submissions will be peer reviewed and featured on our website in real time. There will be no cost for authors to submit their case reports or for readers to gain knowledge from them.

  • Scholarships: Coming soon! IRCC will be asking for scholarship applications and will grant scholarships to deserving clinicians and students for academic purposes and to attend National Professional Meetings such as AARC and others.
